- Since Boralex first came onto the renewable energy scene in 1990, we have been driven by a desire to do things differently. There’s no such thing as a cookie-cutter approach at Boralex. We look at every project, every site, every community and every market with a fresh perspective, and with the goal of finding the smartest and most effective solution.
- That is why we take the time to conduct detailed land surveys, get to know the communities where we plan to develop projects and meet with the people who live there. That way, we can come up with solutions that are in harmony with the surrounding ecosystems. And we are committed to continuous improvement at each site and in all of our practices, delivering smart, scalable projects to meet changing real-world needs.

As a renewable energy producer, we take our pledge to generate sustainable electricity for future generations to heart. That's why our teams in Europe and North America share best practices and success stories to benefit our customers and partners. Our aim is to achieve continuous improvement worldwide.
Our international footprint directly feeds the relationships we cultivate with our partners in the territories where we operate. We transform a global vision into a local approach, so as to be recognized as a good neighbor. In this way, we deploy pragmatic solutions designed to adapt to the energy issues of our customers and partners.
We listen, we adapt and we deliver
We work hand in hand with clients and partners every step of the way, from the initial site assessment to project commissioning through to day-to-day operations. We make sure that the right conditions are in place for each tailor-made project and embrace a results-oriented approach aligned with your specific needs.
For our communities
Our communities are at the front line of climate change. Without them, the energy transition would grind to a halt. Their buy-in is key to decarbonizing and electrifying the economy in the markets we cater to in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and France. Our communities are where our projects are developed in conjunction with local stakeholders, with the aim of striking a viable and sustainable balance between renewable energy production and the environmental and social well-being of our host communities.

For our clients
We have forged excellent relationships with a number of public utility companies over the years, amid an increasingly complex energy landscape. Renewable energies have matured and offer a competitive alternative conducive to net-zero carbon targets. A proportion of our operations therefore involves selling the renewable energy we produce directly to private businesses through corporate PPAs (power purchase agreements). This requires a granular understanding of how these agreements work and the ability to convey the resulting strategic advantages to potential clients. In addition to remaining premier renewable energy producers, we become partners in the implementation of customized energy solutions.
For our land and farm owners
Global warming is an issue that affects us all, but none more than farmers and landowners who see the effects up close every day. More and more, they are called upon to find solutions to extreme weather events — flooding, drought, hail, frost and more — to protect their property, their crops and their livestock. Renewable energies can be one of these solutions. We put our expertise to work for them to develop and deploy bespoke energy projects to complement their main source of income or to add value to underused spaces.

For our investors
We know how to balance boldness in development with seizing the right opportunities in a dynamic and evolving sector. We grow by staying true to our values and demonstrating discipline to ensure long-term value creation. For our investors, we guarantee the relationship with our territories and communities, including indigenous ones when applicable. We develop projects to operate them, and we operate them with a focus on operational excellence.
