Engaging in Key Discussions to Drive the Energy Transition
Boralex attended the 2025 SNP Annual Conference, where we held productive one-on-one conversations with political representatives ahead of 2026 Scottish elections.
Reserved matters included TNUoS charging, national pricing reform, the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP), and connections reform — all crucial elements to unlock investment and accelerate the UK’s renewable energy growth.
Supporting Scotland’s Renewable Energy Ambitions
On devolved matters, we emphasized the continued importance of the Scottish Onshore Wind Sector Deal and addressed existing challenges within the planning system.
- Our goal: to ensure that Scotland remains a global leader in the clean energy transition, supported by a fair and forward-looking regulatory framework.

Collaboration at the Heart of Net Zero Progress
At the Consul General Reception, Esbjorn Wilmar, Vice President Boralex UK, highlighted the remarkable progress of Scotland’s renewable sector and reaffirmed our commitment to supporting the Scottish Government in achieving its Net Zero targets.
- The event, sponsored by Boralex, brought together First Minister John Swinney and Cabinet Secretary Angus Robertson, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration between policymakers and industry.
