Built in 1913 and first refurbished by Boralex in 1994, the Buckingham hydroelectric power station is located on the Lièvre River in the Québec Outaouais region. In 2019, Boralex announced the restart of the power station following an investment that doubled its installed capacity (repowering). Boralex's first electricity contract with Hydro-Québec ran from 1994 to 2019. The contract was subsequently renewed with Hydro-Québec until 2038.
