Initially commissioned in 2005, the Bougainville wind farm is the first wind energy asset in the French sector to have its equipment renewed in the Somme department. Its original six wind turbines have been replaced with an equal number of turbines equipped with the latest technological advancements. Boasting a recyclability rate of over 90%, the replaced wind turbines are now enjoying a second life on the European second-hand market. The materials (concrete and steel) removed from the foundations have been entirely transported to their respective recycling channels to be repurposed in the construction and public works sector.
